In Italy, as in many other European countries, some museums have become truly accessible to all. The elimination of Architectural Barriers, although it may be a major breakthrough, it is not the only way to guarantee total accessibility. The enjoyment of artistic beauty is indeed a need for everyone, even the blind and partially blind.
Even the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci and Archimedes of Syracuse has in recent years turned to provide tactile paths, ample tactile lab set up specifically to allow the blind to know the machines through touch. Use of the museums resources is an important part of the cultural background of each individual. Temporary or permanent disability shouldn’t be an obstacle or grounds for exclusion for anyone., our experience, and a Museum is accessible for everyone “to touch”.
